A Message to Our Families Regarding COVID-19:

As we plan to reopen on Wednesday, May 20, we feel that our main obligation is to protect our families that have placed their trust in us to remain safe while at our funeral home.

We must follow these guidelines that have been set forth by the CDC and Governor Beshear:

  • Out of respect for the family that you will be visiting, we ask that you wear a face covering, if you do not have one, we will provide a face covering for you.
  • Attendees may speak to the family and share memories if you wear a face covering but we ask that you refrain from shaking hands, holding hands or hugging.
  • Our staff will be required to wear a face covering.
  • We will have limited capacity due to our seating arrangement being at six feet for social distancing.
  • Our food area will continue to be closed to attendees.
  • Hand sanitizer will be provided throughout our funeral home for attendees and disinfectant wipes will be provided in our restrooms. We will disinfect our restrooms often, throughout services.

It is so difficult to see our families grieve without the support or comfort of their friends or even distant family members, due to this pandemic. So again, we ask that out of respect for our families, please abide by these guidelines so we can remain open.

Please be safe and practice social distancing.

Welcome to Sego Funeral Home

Our funeral home has been serving families in their time of need, since the late 1930's. Mr. Charles R. Sego joined the staff after returning from WWII and became the sole owner in the mid 1950's. The funeral home continues its local ownership with a home-town family, Jerry Willis Gardner and his wife Sandra T. Gardner.

How we can help

Say It With Flowers

History

Our home originated in the early 1930's in a small house at our current location.  We just recently added an additional chapel that will seat 150 people comfortably.  We pride ourselves in continuing the tradition of care and support that this funeral home was built upon in the 1930's.

Pre-Planning

Advance Planning provides Peace of Mind to you and your family. Burdens are relieved and you and those you love can feel comfortable knowing arrangements are taken care of. No matter what type of funeral service or religious ceremony you need, Sego Funeral Home has what you need.

Talking with Children and Teens

Find resources on helping your family through a time of loss. When a loved one dies, it can be difficult to know how to help kids cope with the loss, particularly as you work through your own grief. By being open and honest, encouraging communication, and sharing your own feelings, you and your children cope with painful times.
